The officer is NOT "out of a job". He's been assigned a desk job while an internal investigation is completed. In most case, officers are reinstated to active duty.
The bicyclist, Long, is still charged with attempted assault, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct. Those charges will likely be dropped.
Fair enough. The officer is not yet out of a job, though he should be as he is clearly prepared to violate other people's rights and abuse his position of power on a whim and give good cops a bad name, and the cyclist was attacked and then falsely accused of a crime he didn't commit.
